If I am not working on a commission, I paint, as it is called, "free work". This can be on many subjects. Often I go out with my painting stuff and find a nice spot outside to capture a beautiful view. Along the coast in the winter, in the countryside in the summer, every subject has its charm. A bridge, a canal, lakes, the colors of summer ... Painting outside, “rain - or shine” (preferably dry, cold does not really matter) is a great passion. I set off with a blank canvas and come back with a view, a beautiful place, on canvas. This gives a very deep satisfaction. This is what I love to do!
In my studio I work with great pleasure on a painting with flowers from still life, or a painting based on a photo. I regularly work on a series for an exhibition in a gallery. A series that I've worked on in the past with great satisfaction, was the 13 western style paintings of cowboys and horses. I could also do a series of snowy landscapes, which are also fine to do in my studio, even when there’s no snow outside. The space of my studio is lovely and inspiring, with a beautiful skylight.
